VandenBerg Group was founded in 1967 by Klaas van den Berg. He started out as an apprentice carpenter in 1955. After training as a structural draughtsman and gaining experience as a supervisor and designer, Klaas van den Berg founded an architectural practice in IJsselmuiden in 1967. Starting out as a sole trader working from his home in IJsselmuiden, his firm quickly grew to become a medium-sized architectural practice. In 1974, the firm moved to a new location on Dorpsweg in IJsselmuiden. The practice in IJsselmuiden is still there today.
The bold and innovative vision and style of Klaas van den Berg attracted increasing recognition and praise over the years. In combination with his entrepreneurship, it ensured the growth of the practice.
In 1987, VandenBerg Consultants was set up, following which a second architectural practice was added, initially based in Hoofddorp, in 1989. In the years which followed, a policy of further growth was pursued in order to be able to offer a local presence in the market and meet the demands of our customers even more completely.
In this way, a one-man band grew to become an architectural practice active across a broad front, offering real estate consultancy and building engineering services from offices in IJsselmuiden, Kampen, Helmond, Houten and Rotterdam.
In 2009, Klaas van den Berg transferred the management of the practice to Klaas van den Berg Jr.
